About Payloom
Practical Education
for the Payroll Desk
We help small-business teams across Malaysia understand and manage their payroll operations clearly — building routines that hold up month after month.
Back to HomeOur Story
Started from a Familiar Problem
Payloom came together in Kuala Lumpur after years of conversations with small-business owners who described the same recurring difficulty: payroll was being handled differently each month depending on who was available and what they could remember. Records were inconsistent, month-end was stressful, and preparing summaries for accountants took longer than it needed to.
The founders — both with backgrounds in business operations and workplace education — decided the gap wasn't a software problem. It was a knowledge and routine problem. Small teams didn't need more tools; they needed a clear, repeatable process and the confidence to run it themselves.
Payloom was set up to address exactly that. Our programs are built around the operational reality of small Malaysian businesses — from sole traders with one or two employees to small teams of twenty. Every module, template, and checklist is designed to slot into a real working month, not a theoretical classroom exercise.
We are not a payroll software company, an accounting firm, or a statutory adviser. We are an education provider. Everything we teach points to official sources for the figures that matter — EPF, SOCSO, LHDN — while giving teams the structural confidence to handle the surrounding administration cleanly and consistently.
Our Mission
To equip small-business teams across Malaysia with practical operational knowledge so that payroll and everyday finance tasks become predictable and manageable — not a source of monthly stress.
Our Vision
A Malaysia where every small business, regardless of size or budget, has a team member who can run payroll confidently and hand over tidy, accurate records to an accountant without a scramble.
Our Values
Clarity over complexity. Practical over theoretical. Honest about what we teach — and what we don't. We point to official sources, not guesswork.
The People Behind Payloom
Our Team
Small by design. Everyone at Payloom has worked in or around small-business operations — so we understand the context our participants are coming from.
Nurul Rashida
Co-Founder & Lead Facilitator
Nurul spent eight years running operations at two growing SMEs in Selangor before co-founding Payloom. She designs and delivers the workshop and program content, drawing on direct experience managing monthly payroll cycles for teams of up to thirty staff.
Ahmad Khairul
Co-Founder & Curriculum Developer
Ahmad's background is in workplace learning and instructional design. He structures Payloom's course material to be accessible to non-specialists — building modules that feel like a clear set of steps rather than a textbook chapter.
Siti Aisyah Tan
Operations & Participant Support
Siti manages program scheduling, participant communication, and post-session follow-up. She is the first point of contact for enrolment enquiries and makes sure that joining a Payloom program is a smooth, well-supported experience from day one.
How We Work
Our Operational Standards
The principles that shape how we build content, run programs, and work with participants.
Educational Integrity
All content is clearly framed as general operational education. We do not present ourselves as statutory advisers or accounting professionals, and we direct participants to official bodies for regulatory specifics.
Content Accuracy Reviews
Program material is reviewed periodically to ensure that references to statutory frameworks and operational terminology remain current and consistent with publicly available official guidance.
Participant Data Protection
Information shared by participants during enrolment and program sessions is handled with care. We collect only what is needed, store it securely, and do not share it with third parties without consent.
Small-Group Standards
Workshops and programs are kept to manageable cohort sizes so that facilitators can engage meaningfully with each participant's questions rather than delivering generic presentations to a room.
Practical Output Focus
Every program concludes with tangible outputs — a working checklist, completed templates, or a documented routine — so participants leave with something they can use the following month, not just notes.
Participant Feedback Loop
We collect structured feedback at the end of each program and use it to refine exercises, update templates, and improve the flow of upcoming cohorts. Content evolves with participant experience.
Our Expertise
What Payloom Brings to Small-Business Teams
Payroll administration in a small Malaysian business is rarely a single person's full-time role. More often, it lands on the business owner, an administrative coordinator, or a bookkeeper who is also handling invoicing, supplier payments, and daily cash records. The result is that payroll tends to be handled reactively — figured out each month rather than run from a clear, documented routine.
Payloom's programs address this directly. The Payroll Basics Course gives individuals a structured introduction to the terminology, record types, and monthly steps involved in small-business payroll — delivered at a pace that fits around a busy working week. The Small Business Payroll Operations Workshop takes teams through the setup of a clean, repeatable process, with exercises built around real working scenarios. The Complete Finance Operations Program combines both of these strands with deeper coverage of everyday finance record-keeping, live facilitator support across twelve weeks, and a full template toolkit that teams can adapt to their own context.
None of these programs replace the work of a qualified accountant or a statutory adviser. They complement that relationship by helping teams arrive better prepared — with organised records, a consistent filing structure, and a clear understanding of what their accountant actually needs each month.
Payloom is based in Kuala Lumpur and works with small businesses across Malaysia. Our programs are delivered in English and are designed to be accessible to teams with no prior formal training in finance or payroll administration. If your team is spending too many hours each month reconstructing payroll records from memory, or if you're not confident your current process would hold up under scrutiny, our programs offer a calm, structured path to something more reliable.
